Modeling a 3D orc with Lightwave 3D

Chapter 9 - Adding detail

Ok let's add some detail to our head (a perfectly symmetrical head is not very realistic): we'll de-symetrize the eye area and eyebrow, the front, the chin, the jaw, the ear and the nose. The animated gif of the process should clarify more these changes.

The perfect symmetrical head

Now we'll use a very useful plugin called {link}2{/link} by Fujio Ichikawa, a really great tool to create veins and wrinkles. We'll use it for creating the front wrinkles, as seen on images.

The first front wrinkle...

With the same technique, create a vein on the left temple...

...and one on the right.

The right temple vein

Remember to adjust UV map, moving vertexes to reduce veins distortion. Last step is to de-symmetrize teeth, simply casually rotate and stretch them...how you prefer.

The original teeth and gums

Ok this is my finished (mmm...sure?) head, ready to be attached to the body, maybe it should be changed a little before attaching it.
